CHECK YOUR ANDROID VERSION
EcuPulse needs Android 8.1 or newer. On older units the installer stops with "App not installed" or "There was a problem parsing the package". Look under Settings ▸ About (or System info) on the unit before you download. Video recording needs Android 10 or newer, and voice commands Android 12 or newer.
INSTALLING
Download the APK on the head unit, or copy it over on a USB stick, then open it from the browser's downloads or a file manager. Android asks you to allow installs from that app the first time; allow it, then tap Install.
UPDATES
A downloaded copy does not update itself: EcuPulse has no internet access. Check back here for new versions and install the new APK over the old one. Your settings, cars and logs are kept.
ADAPTERS ON A HEAD UNIT
A Bluetooth OBDLink is the simplest choice. USB adapters (Tactrix Openport 2.0, K-line cables) need a USB port that supplies power and supports USB host; not every head unit does. See the manual for setup.
